Injunction
an official order given by a law court, usually to stop someone from doing something:
E.g: The court has issued an injunction to prevent the airline from increasing its prices.


Expedite 
to make something happen more quickly:
E.g:- Something needs to be done to expedite the process. 


Doze off
If you doze off, you start to sleep, especially during the day:
E.g: The office was so hot I nearly dozed off at my desk.


Scourge
something or someone that causes great suffering or a lot of trouble:
E.g: the scourge of war/poverty/drugs


Evict
to force someone to leave somewhere:
E.g: Tenants who fall behind in their rent risk being evicted.


Husting
the campaigning associated with an election.
E.g: "I was out on the hustings, talking to people"


Quilt
join together (layers of fabric or padding) with lines of stitching to form a bed covering, a warm garment, or for decorative effect.
E.g: "a blue quilted jacket"


Reconnaissance
preliminary surveying or research, exploration
E.g: Aerial reconnaissance of the enemy position showed they were ready to attack.


Mangle
to destroy something by twisting it with force or tearing it into pieces so that its original form is completely changed:
E.g: My sweater got mangled in the washing machine.


Strew
to spread things in an untidy way over a surface
E.g: They marked the end of the war by strewing flowers over the graves of 18,000 soldiers.
