Let’s start discussion of today’s lecture with term “Machine Cycle”.

Do you know about it?

Perhaps not.

When CPU gets a machine language instruction then first CPU fetches it  then decode the fetched information so that computer can understand it. Now, it’s time to execute the instruction which is later on stored.

Hence, Machine Cycle consists of various steps:

1. Fetch

2. Decode

3. Execute

4. Store

In Computer section, sometimes we come to know about “Open standards”.

It means that application or standard which is available publicly.

Let’s discuss few full forms. Many times IBPS asked various full forms in computer sections:

1. SQL: It stands for Structure Query Language.

It means set of commands used in DBMS. These commands are helpful to manage database.

2.  VIRUS: Vital Information Resources Under Seize.

I think you are much aware about problem of viruses in computers.

3.  HTML: It stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.

It’s used to create web-pages.

4.  CGI: Computer Generated Imagery

It’s application used in Computer Graphics.

5.  CSS: Cascading Style Sheets

It’s used along with HTML in order to describe the presentation of web document.

6. WWW: World Wide Web

 We are aware about it. On web-browser we mention it to get our requested page.

E.g. www.amazon.com  

7. ASCII: It stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange.

It’s basically set of characters, special symbols etc.

8. TCP: Transmission Control Protocol

It’s a protocol used for establishment of connection between two hosts and it’s used for data exchange between the hosts.

9. DSL: Digital Subscriber Line

It’s a technology used for exchanging information via normal copper lines.

10. POP: It means Point Of Presence

It’s basically an interface which is artificial between two entities like we use sometimes mobile hotspot in order to connect PC/laptop to internet.

I think these full forms are enough for lecture of today.

Before winding up this lecture, I want to say that many times Computer section is ignored while preparing for competition exams like IBPS exam. Once I got message of a student who was saying that she missed success in her exam of IBPS PO by only 0.25 marks in computer section. Why these types of problems occur. Answer is negligence. Computer is ignored many times while preparing.

So, let’s decide to get maximum marks in this section.
