Solution:

The meaningful sequence is :  BEGFCHAD

(B) Excessive dependence on technology is often blamed for bringing down the human intellect.
(E) Some senior doctors believe that the same has happened to the younger lot of medical professionals too.
(G) They say extensive investigations and sophisticated gadgets are not required to reach a diagnosis in majority of the cases.
(F) It is wrongly believed that progress in science should replace conventional and traditional wisdom, when in fact science was developed only to help.

Computer-6

Sometimes “Bridge” term is used in Computer-Networking.
Bridge is basically that device which is used to filter data between networks.

Let’s discuss about one more term called “Spooling”.
Do you know?
What it’s?
Spooling is basically buffering. We have observed it in many instances like while printing. Before printing ... we observe that there is buffering of data.
Also, note that SPOOL stands for Simultaneous Peripheral Operations On Line.

Have you been aware of “OSI model”?
OSI stands for Open Systems Interconnection Model. It basically describes how data is communicated. This description is done by describing 7 layers. Each layer has its own purpose.
Let’s not go in detail of this concept.

One more term has been used now a days called “Spoofing”.
It means to gain access of identity etc. of a network and thus causes challenge to security of the network.

Let’s go through one last concept of this lecture called “Aging”.
It simple means to increase the priority of a process which is waiting in queue. Thus, problem of blockage is avoided by “Aging”.
Please note that this blockage of processes is called “Starvation”.

Before winding up this lecture, I want to remind you not to study the concepts of Computer-Science comprehensively for your IBPS-Clerical exam because you are not going to appear for IT-Officer exam.
But superficial knowledge of variety of concepts can be helpful.

Quote-5

"If it’s important to you,
 You’ll find a way:
If not,
 You’ll find an excuse”
                                           --- Jim Rohn

Motivation-5

Burning desire

"If it’s important to you,
 You’ll find a way:
If not,
 You’ll find an excuse”
                                                           --- Jim Rohn

Lion is the king of a jungle. Have you ever imagined why lion doesn’t eat all the animals of the jungle in one go. Answer is lack of hunger.
Similarly, the reason behind not to get success is lacking burning desire. If you take responsibility yourself that I have to do this or that then you will have thirst also.
Let’s know the secret of success:
A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him towards the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, 'What did you want the most when you were there?" The boy replied, "Air." Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it." There is no other secret.
Moral of the Story
A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results.

“Dream is not which you see while sleeping,
it is something that does not let you sleep.”
                                                                                    ― Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

See the main thing is not only intelligence but the burning desire behind it.
“Your "I CAN"
is more important than your IQ.”
---   Sh. Robin Sharma

Shortcut-5

Shortcut of Multiplication by “9”

Let’s take an example.

1210112 * 9

Step – 1:
Take “0” on left hand side.
The result is:
“01210112”

Step-2:
Now, make pairs of 2 digits of “01210112” and at last write last digit again:
The pairs are:
“01” ... “12” ... “21” ... “10” ... “01” ... “11” ... “12” and the last digit is: “2”

For First pair:
“01”
Subtract “1” from right hand side.
Thus:
“01” = 1 -1 = 0

For middle pairs:
“12” ... “21” ... “10” ... “01” ... “11” ... “12”

Subtract left hand digit from “9” and add the result to right hand side digit:
Thus,
“12” = 9 – 1 = 8 + 2 = 10
“21” = 9 – 2 = 7 + 1 = 8
“10” = 9 – 1 = 8 + 0 = 8
“01” = 9 – 0 = 9 + 1 = 10
“11” = 9 – 1 = 8 + 1 = 9
“12” = 9 – 1 = 8 + 2 = 10

For the last digit: “2”
Subtract “2” from 10:
10 – 2 = 8

Now, write all the results:

(0) (10) (8) (8) (10) (9) (10) (8)
Take carries on left hand side:

(0) (10) (8) (8) (10) (10) (0) (8)
(0) (10) (8) (8) (11) (0) (0) (8)
(0) (10) (8) (9) (1) (0) (0) (8)
(1) (0) (8) (9) (1) (0) (0) (8)

Hence,
Answer is:
1210112 * 9 = 1089108

Lot of practice and examples are required as, you are using this shortcut first time.

Let’s take more examples:

879 * 9

Step – 1:
Take “0” on left hand side.
Result is:
“0879”

Step-2:
Make pairs of 2 digits of “0879” and write last digit “9” also.
We would get:
“08” ... “87” ... “79” ... “9”

For first pair:
Subtract “1” from “8”
8 – 1 = 7
Thus,
“08” = 7

For middle pairs:
Subtract left hand side digit from “9” and add the result to the right hand side digit:
Thus,
“87” = 9 – 8 = 1 + 7 = 8
“79” = 9 – 7 = 2 + 9 = 11

For the last digit: “9”
Subtract it from “10”.
Result is:
10 – 9 = 1

Write the results:
(7) (8) (11) (1)
Take carries on left hand side:
Hence the answer is:
(7) (9) (1) (1)
7911

58 * 9

Step – 1:
Take “0” on left hand side.
Result is:
“058”

Step – 2:
Make pairs of 2 digits of “058” and right “8” at the last.
Thus,
We get:
“05” ... “58” ... “8”

For first pair:
Subtract “1” from right hand digit.
Thus,
“05” = 5 – 1 = 4

For middle pair:
Subtract “9” from left hand digit and add the result to the right:
We would get:
“58” = 9 – 5 = 4 + 8 = 12

For last digit:
Subtract “8” from 10:
Thus,
We get:
10 – 8 =2

Now,
Write all the results:

(4) (12) (2)
Take carries to the left hand side:

We would get:

(5) (2) (2)

Hence,
Answer is:
522

Shortcut-4

Subtraction Shortcut

Let’s take an example:

120 – 97

Step – 1:
It’s little bit confusing to subtract by “97”.
So, subtract by “100”.
We would get:
120 – 100 = 20

Step- 2:
What’s difference of “97” from “100”?
100-97=”3”

Step – 3:
Simply add “3” to “20”:
Hence the answer is:
“23”

Let’s take more examples:

1581 – 89

Step – 1:
Subtract from “100”
We would get:
1581-100 =
“1481”

Step -2:
Difference of “89” from “100” is:
100 – 89 = 11

Step – 3:
Add “11” to 581”:
1481 + 11
= 1492

1581 – 109

Please note here second number is greater than “100”

Step- 1:
Subtract “1581” from “100”
We would get:
“1481”

Step – 2:
Subtract further by “9”
1481 – 9
= 1472

Let’s take one last example:

1581 – 1339

Step-1:
Subtract from “1000”
We would get:
1581 – 1000 = “581”

Step-2:
Subtract from “300”
We would get:
581 – 300
= 281

Step – 3:
Subtract from “30”
We would get:
281 – 30
= 251

Step- 4:
Subtract from “9”
Hence the answer is:
251 – 9
= 242

Quote-4

“Before you act, listen.
Before you react, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.”
                                        ― William Arthur Ward

Motivation-4

Right choice

Let’s go through two different situations:
There was a man named Rohit working in a bank. Once Rohit was drinking tea. He had to go to his job by 9:00 AM. Near about 8:00 AM , his little daughter entered into the room . She was playing with her ball. Suddenly, the ball hit Rohit who was drinking. Cup of tea fell from hand of Rohit and tea spoiled his shirt.
Situation 1 :  Rohit became very angry. He slapped his daughter . Wife of Rohit came outside of kitchen and urged to pardon the daughter. But the husband was too angry to listen to any body. Soon, he shouted to his wife also. After that situation was worsened. Rohit didn’t eat his breakfast and started for his office. When he reached to the office, it was 10:00 AM. His boss was very angry. Rohit had to face his boss. On the same day , auditors had to come to his office for annual checking of accounts and examination. It was difficult for Rohit to handle them. In the evening , Rohit was given task of public dealing. But he shouted to customers and one of the customers complained to his boss about rude behaviour of Rohit. Boss again shouted at Rohit.  He was upset and his day was one of the worst days of his life.
Situation 2 :  Rohit was not upset at all and with lot of love advised his daughter to play outside and promised her to bring chocolate for her. His wife came to the room and praised her husband for his nice nature. By 8:30 AM Rohit reached to his office. On seeing Rohit his boss was very happy and praised him for his punctuality. With humbleness, Rohit accepted the praise. Auditors asked Rohit for the record which was managed properly by Rohit. It impressed the auditors. In the evening , Rohit got an opportunity to have some public dealing. Actually , because of his pleasant nature , Rohit was famous among customers. In the evening , his manager called him and gave him a letter. On checking the letter , Rohit came to know that he was promoted to next scale on the recommendation of higher authority. In the evening , family of Rohit went outside for dinner.  The day proved to be one of the best days for Rohit.

See this is our life also. We all have some problems just it’s our attitude which differentiates us.
We all have choices. What differentiates human-being from animals and birds is the power of patience. Let’s use it.

“Before you act, listen.
Before you react, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.”

Computer Lecture – 5

Let’s start with discussion on Static and Dynamic IP address.
As the name suggests...
Static IP address is permanently assigned to a device which is not changed dynamically.
But a dynamic address is assigned temporarily which is assigned when the device is connected to the internet.
You know?
Generally, Dynamic IP address is used for devices.

In Computer – Science sometimes a term is used called Tuple.
What is tuple?
This term is used in Relational data base management system (which we discussed in earlier lecture.)
A tuple is basically a row of a table.
Simple...

Let’s come to know about ODBC:
ODBC stands for Open Database Connectivity.
It is basically a protocol which is used in order to connect DBMS like Oracle etc. with High level language like Java etc.  Commands have to be used in high level languages to work on database.
Thus, ODBC provides connection between high languages and data base management system.

Many times ... we use a common term called “Protocol”.
What it is?
Protocol is basically a set of rules for various purposes like for communication.

In this context, sometimes a term is used called “VOIP”.
It’s the reason behind voice call etc.
VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol.

In Networking, a common term is used called gateway.
Do you know?
What it is?

Gateway is basically a gate or an interface between two networks that use different protocols.

Sometimes ... question is raised about NIC.
NIC means Network Interface Card.
It’s basically a device used in Computer.
This device is used by computer to access network.

Let’s wind up this lecture with one more concept known as “Repeater”.

Repeater: It’s basically a device which is used in networking.
Sometimes, signal that is transmitted in a network becomes weak.
Repeater takes this signal as input and as output it generates it again and provides it more strength so that it can be transmitted to longer distance.

Many times, complex questions are asked on these terms. But until we are not aware about basic concepts of these terms we can never successfully tackle questions related to the basic concepts.

In further lectures, we will explore more terms and concepts.
